Help & Support

Quick answers to common questions, and how to reach the Real Victors team when you need a human.

Need a human? Email hello@realvictors.com and we'll get back to you within one to two business days. Include your username and the device you're on (iPhone / Android) so we can help faster.

Account and sign-in

I forgot my password.

Tap Log in on the welcome screen, then Forgot password? We'll send a reset link to the email you signed up with. Links expire after 60 minutes for security.

I'm not receiving the password reset email.

Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it still isn't there after ten minutes, email us at hello@realvictors.com with the email address you used to sign up.

I want to change my username or display name.

Open the app, go to your profile, tap the settings icon, then Edit Profile Info.

Email cannot be changed once your account is created. The email you sign up with is the one tied to your account permanently. If you need a different email, you'll have to delete your current account (Settings → Delete Account) and sign up again with the new email. We may add an in-app email change flow in the future, but it isn't available today.

How old do I need to be to use Real Victors?

Real Victors is an adults-only Service. You must be at least 18 years old to download, register for, or use the app. If you are under 18, please do not download or install Real Victors. At sign-up you confirm you are 18+ with a checkbox, and during account setup you provide your date of birth so we can verify it. See our Terms of Service for the full eligibility rules.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This is permanent. Once you confirm, your profile, games, RSVPs, ratings, and uploaded content will be removed within 30 days. Payment transaction records that we are legally required to keep (Canadian tax records) cannot be deleted on request, but they are not visible to other users. If you want to come back later, you will need to create a new account.

Games and RSVPs

I joined a game but can't make it anymore.

Open the game in the app and tap Leave Game. Hosts appreciate the heads-up. Repeated no-shows can lead to account restrictions.

How do I find games near me?

The Games tab shows pickup games and exhibition matches in your area. Grant location access for the most accurate results. You can also filter by skill level, gender, and whether the game is free or paid.

Paid games & payments

What does it actually cost to join a paid game?

The host sets the entry fee. At checkout you also pay a small Real Victors service fee, a flat payment-processing fee, and any sales tax that applies (we aren't collecting sales tax right now). The full breakdown is shown before you confirm — there's no hidden math.

How are exhibitions priced — per team or per player?

Per team. One person (the accepting team's owner or admin) pays the per-team fee on behalf of the whole roster at the moment they accept the challenge. Individual players on the team don't pay anything to Real Victors directly.

How does Real Victors make money on a paid game?

We take a percentage of the entry fee as a platform commission, plus a small service fee from the player at checkout. The exact rates are shown to hosts when they enable paid games and to players right before they pay.

When does the host actually get paid?

Real Victors holds payments for about 24 hours after the game starts so we have a clean window to issue refunds for cancellations. After that, the host's share moves to their Stripe account. Stripe then runs its own settlement cycle (usually 2–7 business days for new accounts) before depositing to the host's bank. New hosts will see “Pending” on their first payout while Stripe's buffer applies; this window shortens as the account builds history.

A game I joined was cancelled. Do I get a refund?

Yes — automatically. When a host cancels a paid game, every player who paid gets a full refund issued to the card they used. Refunds take 5–10 business days to show up on a card statement depending on the issuing bank. You don't need to ask for it or contact the host.

I want to leave a paid game I already joined.

More than 24 hours before the game starts: open the game and tap Leave Game. You'll get a full automatic refund.
Less than 24 hours before: leaving forfeits the payment — the host has typically already committed to a court booking or capacity based on your spot. The app shows a clear warning before you confirm. If something genuinely went wrong (injury, emergency), email us and we'll review.

I see a “TEST” or “Test Mode” banner during checkout. Is that a scam?

No — that means you're using a pre-launch build of the app (TestFlight on iOS, Internal Testing on Android) and we're running payments in Stripe's test mode. No real money moves; test cards are required. The banner goes away automatically in production builds from the App Store / Play Store.

How do I set up payouts so I can host paid games?

In the app: Settings → Payments & Earnings → Set up payouts. You'll be sent through a short Stripe Connect Express onboarding flow (managed entirely by Stripe — not us) where Stripe collects the identity and bank info they need under Canadian financial regulations. Most accounts are approved within minutes; Stripe occasionally asks for an additional ID verification step that adds 1–3 days. You'll see a clear “Ready” state in the app when payouts are enabled.

Where do I see my earnings as a host?

Settings → Payments & Earnings → Earnings tab. It shows held payments (waiting for the 24h post-game window), paid-out payments (sent to Stripe), and refunded payments. From there you can open the Stripe Express dashboard for the granular per-payout view (taxes, fees, deposit dates).

I think a charge or refund is wrong. What do I do?

Email hello@realvictors.com with your username, the game name and date, and what you expected to see vs. what showed up. Include screenshots if you have them. We respond to payment queries within one business day.

Will I get a tax slip from Real Victors as a host?

We'll issue Canadian tax slips (e.g. T4A) once a host's earnings cross the legal reporting threshold for the tax year. We'll notify you ahead of time the first year you're eligible and tell you where to download your slip. Until then, hosts are still responsible for declaring host earnings on their own returns.

Where does my card information go?

Your card details are entered directly into a Stripe-controlled form and go straight to Stripe, not to Real Victors. Real Victors never sees or stores your full card number, CVC, or expiry. We see only metadata such as the last 4 digits and the card brand. See our Privacy Policy for details.

I want a refund for a game I paid for.

Refunds for paid games are handled by the host. Contact the host first through in-app chat. If the host doesn't respond or refuses for a game they cancelled or failed to deliver, email hello@realvictors.com with the game name, date, and what happened, and we will look into it.

How do I become a host and start charging for games?

In the app, set up a paid game and follow the prompts to connect a Stripe account. Stripe will collect the information they need to verify your identity and pay you out (legal name, date of birth, address, bank account). Real Victors does not store this information; Stripe does.

When do I get paid out as a host?

Payouts to your bank account happen on Stripe's standard schedule (typically 2 to 7 business days after the game, depending on your bank). You can track your payouts in your Stripe dashboard, accessible from inside the app.

Privacy and safety

How do I make my profile private?

Settings → Privacy Settings. When private, your detailed activity is hidden from people who aren't your friends. Your basic profile (name, photo, position) stays visible so other players can recognize you in games you join.

I want to report a player or a host.

We're building in-app reporting and blocking. Until those ship, email hello@realvictors.com with the subject “Safety report”, the player's username, the date, and a short description of what happened. We respond to safety reports within one business day.

Someone harassed me in chat. What do I do?

Email us at hello@realvictors.com with the subject “Chat harassment”, the player's username, and a screenshot of the conversation if you can. We take harassment seriously and may suspend or remove accounts that violate our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. For severe situations involving threats of physical harm, contact local emergency services first, then report to us.

How do I export my data, or get a copy of what you have on me?

Email hello@realvictors.com with the subject “Data export request.” We respond within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of rights.

Notifications

I'm getting too many notifications.

Settings → notification preferences (or your phone's system Settings → Real Victors → Notifications). You can fine-tune game reminders, RSVP updates, team messages, and marketing notifications independently.

I'm not getting any notifications.

Check your device's system settings to confirm Real Victors has notification permission. On iOS this lives at Settings → Notifications → Real Victors. On Android it's Settings → Apps → Real Victors → Notifications. Also confirm Do Not Disturb / Focus Mode isn't silencing the app.

Bugs, crashes, feature requests

The app crashed.

We collect anonymous crash reports automatically so we can fix issues. If the same crash keeps happening, email us with the device model, OS version, and what you were doing right before the crash.

I have an idea for a feature.

Email hello@realvictors.com with the subject “Feature idea.” We read every one. We can't promise a timeline, but the best ideas come from active players.

Press, partnerships, business

For press, partnerships, sponsorship, or business inquiries, email us at hello@realvictors.com and we'll route it to the right person.
